A Few G Things

This afternoon G asked me what he could do to be in the newspaper . . . I told him he could either do something really smart or really stupid . . . to which he replied:

“Remember when I made chlorine when I put pepperoni in water and left it there and it tasted like sink (tap) water? Can you call the newspaper man and tell him about that?”

Initially I told him that probably wouldn’t get him in the paper. He wanted to know, “What are more options?”

I told him he could rescue more cats from trees than any other person in the world. “That would take years,” he said.

I later changed my mind and told him that if he did indeed make chlorine from water and pepperoni it would probably get him in the paper; in the meantime I would write about it on my blog. He still attempted to persuade me to call the newspaper man . . . he even told me what to say, “Can you call him and say, ‘My son, who is only six . . . ‘” I told him if the newspaper man reads my blog and decides to write about the chlorine pepperoni he is welcome to do so.

An hour later this same child wanted to know how tall a stack of 583 microscopic ants would be.

Cheers,
D

Whatcha been up to?

Ok – so it’s been awhile since I posted anything . . . not because I went on a T.V. vacation but because of technical difficulties.

I do not manage technical difficulties well.

Mostly I just ignore them until I simply cannot stand it any more.

So clearly I couldn’t stand it and I am blogging in spite of the poor relationship between the blog’s web interface and my computer . . . because I just had to let you know what we’ve been up to the past few weeks.

So here it is in pictures . . .

The first day we were all together here we spent a bit of time in the water . . .

We also spent part of that day – and an insane amount of time that week – at Ikea . . . which means we spent equally insane amounts of time engaged in activities resembling this . . .

Which resulted in a whole lot of this . . .

In between assembling furniture and taking out recycling we played in our own little personal swimming pools . . .

And admired the local wildlife . . . from our front yard . . .

We also made a trip to the Arboretum . . .

Which is amazing and will be visited again soon . . .

We admired more wildlife . . . again, from our front yard . . .

Played in the water some more . . .

Started school . . .

Had a birthday . . . putting to good use the one and only candle I brought with us from Alaska . . . planning ahead for when G turns 8. Didn’t realize we’d need it so soon. The 8 goes well with the 14 I wanted on my cake.

Bought a really cool plant . . .

Played in the river . . .

Admired more wildlife from you-know-where . . .

And lost two teeth . . . at least R did.

The End,
D
